Thanksgiving Basket Kids
Where is a good place to drop off a "food basket" in the city ?
My kids and I were watching the News yesterday. There is a big "food shortage" in certain "food shelter". My 7 and 8 year old, want to make a "food basket" for Thanksgiving to give to a total stranger. The church that I attend, doesn't collect food for poor people so I need to make two Baskets now (and my kids are not kidding) and give them out. They even made a list with what they want to buy for food ! I have no problem doing that "it will ultimately show them, that giving back something to someone is a good thing" but where do I go once this task is completed ?

The Salvation army always helps out the poor.. they are a genuine organization and they feed people there who would otherwise be homeless.. they even help them find work.. they give them shelter.. They deserve it... or a place where people stay who have no close relatives who can visit them.. At retirement homes they usually have relatives who visit... The church.. the local church will be able to give you addresses where such food shelters are.. otherwise the Salvation army.. as they really help and don't keep money for themselves.. also the one place I would definitely donate money to for a good cause as I know the Salvation army will not keep part of the funds.. it will all go to the homeless people... not like some other fake organizations who say they collect for the Third world and then Administration keeps half of the money that is being sent by people who want to help the needy and hungry... and starving..
